It's Time for Change!

With the internet, television, cell phones and video games, getting kids outdoors and active is becoming harder and harder. More than ever our children struggle to maintain fitness, and as a result of these distractions and a sedentary lifestyle, the struggle with chronic disease and illness is becoming more prevalent among children of all ages. We enjoyed our childhood years before the "technological revolution" – when children spent the majority of their time playing outside and engaged in activities that relied on physical movement. During the summer our moms were hard pressed to get us in before dark, mostly because we were out swimming, riding bikes, playing ball and running back and forth from one activity to the other. Time passed and as we moved into our adult years working for a living pushed these activities aside in our lives. It wasn't that we forgot how to do them…time simply did not permit them and they no longer fit into our busy life styles. Year after year we became more sedentary and got farther and farther away from the childhood fitness that we are all blessed with in the beginning.

Then one summer a friend told us about a sport called triathlon. In school we played traditional sports like baseball, basketball, and football, but triathlon? What was triathlon? We were told that it was a MultiSport combining swimming, biking, and running into one big event. Swimming, biking, and running…this struck an old and familiar chord. Never did we imagine that triathlon would be the answer to getting us out of the office and off the couch and back in touch with our childhood activities.

Alive with MissionMe!® curricula and programs use a variety of activities and training techniques to introduce children and youth to this wonderful sport. We provide instruction and guidance on basic and advanced MultiSport fundamentals, while incorporating fun, interactive games and skills so children can learn sports that last a lifetime and transcend any age! It's time for our children to change, to get moving, to get excited and involved. Teaching them MultiSport just might be the answer to the problem!
